We are excited to invite you to Kol Emeth’s Annual Spring
Celebration on Sunday, May 12th from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
As we deepen the bonds of community, our theme this year is
“Nurturing Our Jewish Future."
Join us for an elegant evening of great food, music, and making a difference!
Why Give?
Our congregation depends on everyone’s generosity.
Funds raised by this event will support KE Cares, ensuring that cost is not a barrier to participating in religious school or synagogue events.
Your generosity allows Kol Emeth to continue to flourish and welcome everyone.
Please consider sponsorship.
Ticket sales alone won’t raise the funds we need.
You can help us close the gap.
Our Honorees
Lori Meyers
Leila Beckwith PhD
Carol Booth
We honor these three extraordinary individuals for building and protecting our community.
Lori, Leila, and so many others have been at the forefront of efforts to combat antisemitism and promote safety and respectful treatment for all. Join us to celebrate them for stepping up with courage, resilience and creativity.
Carol, through her work at the Jewish Baby Network, has brought young families together in friendship and learning, creating a deeper connection to Judaism. Kol Emeth and the entire Bay Area Jewish community are stronger thanks to her efforts.
We hope you honor them with your presence and support.
Lori Meyers
Lori Meyers is the assistant principal at South Peninsula Hebrew Day School and an advocate committed to combatting antisemitism.
Lori’s advocacy includes grassroots activism in school districts and municipalities - with a focus on the city of Palo Alto - to combat the surge of antisemitism since October 7. Lori also co-founded a grassroots organization of educators with a mission to promote a balanced approach to ethnic studies.
Lori and her husband Gary were married at Kol Emeth, and their children - Moriah (25) and Zach (21) - were bat and bar mitzvahed at Kol Emeth. Lori and Gary are grateful for the warmth and support of our wonderful Kol Emeth leadership and community.
Leila Beckwith Ph.D.
Leila Beckwith joined Kol Emeth in 2020 when Risa Beckwith, her daughter-in-law, became Executive Director. Leila is a retired professor from UCLA, Department of Pediatrics, where she did research and taught about early child development for more than 30 years. Motivated by events at the University of California in 2003, she joined a faculty group, Scholars for Peace in the Middle East, of which she is still a board member.
In 2010, she was an invited scholar at a workshop, "Contemporary Antisemitism in Higher Education" at the U.S. Holocaust Museum.
In 2013, she co-founded with Tammi Benjamin, faculty from University of California at Santa Cruz, the AMCHA Initiative, a 5013c organization that identifies, investigates, and exposes antisemitism on American university campuses to the public, to Jewish organizations, and to Congress.
